You must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress in order to be eligible for any type of federal student aid. Taking courses at your own expense can help you get back into good standing. You can get help from a Financial Aid Advisor to determine how many courses you need to make Satisfactory Academic Progress.

What is Satisfactory Academic Progress?

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) is passing a requisite number of hours (completion rate), achieving a required Grade Point Average during any semester or academic year, and completing a program of study within maximum time limits. When a student fails to maintain SAP, he or she is no longer eligible to receive Title IV aid. The minimum GPA requirement is 2.00 and the completion rate is 67%. This is required each term and overall.

Satisfactory Academic Progress can be viewed in Student Planning, in the Financial Aid section.
